James Scura

James Scura is currently working as Co-Executive Producer/UPM on the 5th season of S.W.A.T. for Sony/CBS. James has produced all 5 seasons of the series along with long-time producing partner Paul Bernard, Neil Moritz (Fast and Furious, Prison Break) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield). The pilot was directed by Justin Lin (Fast and Furious) and the series stars Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds). Prior to S.W.A.T., Mr. Scura produced Angie Tribeca for TBS, starring Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation) guest stars included James Franco, Chris Pine, Heather Graham and Natalie Portman. Angie Tribeca was filmed at Paramount Studios and Universal Studios in Los Angeles. James produced along with Steve Carell (The Office, Despicable Me) and Ira Ungerleider (Friends). James has produced two shows for USA Network: Colony for Legendary Pictures starring Josh Holloway (Lost), with Executive Producer by Carlton Cuse (Lost, Jack Ryan) and James was an Executive Producer on Nash Bridges for Village Roadshow, a TV movie starring Don Johnson and Cheech Marin. Additional television credits include:, The Librarians produced for TNT, Public Morals, a 1960’s NY cop drama for TNT starring Ed Burns, Notorious for Sony Pictures/ABC, the FX show Legit, starring comic Jim Jefferies, Mob City a 1940’s film Noir series for TNT written and directed by Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption). Leverage, starring Tim Hutton and produced by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment which ran for five seasons on TNT. Agent X starring Sharon Stone for Beacon Pictures, produced with Armyan Berstein (Air Force One, Castle). CBS’s Scent of a Missing, produced by Carol Mendelson (CSI) and Barry Josephson (Bones). James’s independent producing film credits include: White Irish Drinkers, a period 1975 drama filmed in Brooklyn, NY, starring Stephen Lang, directed by John Gray (Ghost Whisperer). A Fork in The Road, written and directed by Jim Kouf (National Treasure/Rush Hour), starring Jamie King and filmed in Montana. Passionada, starring Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The Patriot), Emmy Rossum (Shameless), directed by Dan Ireland (A Whole Wide World), distributed by Samuel Goldwyn, and Columbia Tri-Star. Two Tickets to Paradise, directed by DB Sweeney, featuring John C. McGinley, and Ed Harris. High Times’ Potluck, featuring Jason Isaacs, Jason Mewes, and Tommy Chong. Loose Women, featuring Charlie Sheen, and Giancarlo Esposito. Outside of his production work, James is a co-owner of McGuffin Entertainment specializing in production consulting, production and locations rentals, and catering for film production, with operations in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville and the Pacific Northwest as well as the co-owner of Scura Enterprises, a privately held company consisting of various retail outlets. Mr. Scura graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in Accounting and Finance and is a member of the Director’s Guild of America.
