Paul Bernard

Producer, Director, AD

Paul F. Bernard is a producer, director and assistant director in film and television with over 30-years of experience in the entertainment industry. Having lived and worked in New York City before relocating to Los Angeles, Mr. Bernard has traveled the country — and to a larger part, the world — working in entertainment. Along with his producing partner James Scura of McGuffin Entertainment, Mr. Bernard specializes in producing studio-quality movies on independent budgets, but is no stranger to working on films with high blockbuster budgets. Over the span of his career, Mr. Bernard has had the pleasure of working closely with many talented directors and producers, including Oliver Stone, Woody Allen, Michael Ritchie, Brian DePalma, Tim Burton, Roland Emmerich, Dean Devlin, Peter Berg, Neil Jordon, Michael Mann, James Brooks, John Singleton, Doug Liman, James Wong, Cameron Cr owe, and Justin Lin, among many others, and has maintained good working relationship with them all. Mr. Bernard became a full-fledged producer in 2008, where he produced five seasons of TNT’s hit series, “Leverage”. The Timothy Hutton-starring series was executive produced by Dean Devlin (Independence Day) and created by John Rogers (Transformers). In 2011, after several seasons on “Leverage”, Mr. Bernard co-executive produced the FX pilot, “Legit,” while simultaneously producing the CBS pilot “Scent of the Missing” for executive producer Carol Mendelsohn (the “CSI” franchise). Mr. Bernard also independently produced the film White Irish Drinkers, which premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. Written and directed John Gray (“Ghost Whisperer”), the film features the talents of Stephan Lang (Avatar) and Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark), and was nominated for the 2010 Gotham Independent Film "Genius Award." Mr. Bernard’s other notable credits include A Fork in the Road, directed by Jim Kouf, features Jamie King; Follow the Profit, directed by Drew Ann Rosenberg, features Robert Chimento, Diane Venora, Annie Burgstede; Blank Slate, directed by John Harrison, features Eric Stoltz and Clancy Brown; The Air I Breathe, directed by Jieho Lee, features Forest Whitaker, Kevin Bacon, Brendon Fraser, and Sarah Michelle Gellar; The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines, directed by Jonathan Frakes, features Noah Wyle and Gabrielle Anwar; Trust the Man, directed by Bart Freundlich, features Julianne Moore, David Duchovny, and Billy Crudup; Venus and Vegas, directed by Demian Lichtenstein, features Donald Faison, and Jamie Pressly; Passionada, directed by Dan Ireland, featurse Jason Isaacs, Sophia Milos, and Emmy Rossum. Mr. Bernard has directed Loose Woman, starring Charlie Sheen, Keith David, and Giancarlo Esposito, and also several episodes of television for TBS’ “Angie Tribeca” starring Rashida Jones and Chris Pine, as well as CBS’ “S.W.A.T.” reboot, starring Shemar Moore. In addition, Mr. Bernard has accumulated numerous Assistant Director credits throughout his career, including “Leverage”, White Irish Drinkers, Sugarloaf, The Marc Pease Experience, Dragonball Evolution, A Fork in the Road, Follow the Prophet, The Air I Breathe, The Kingdom, “Ghost Whisperer”, Trust the Man, “NYPD Blue”, Raising Helen, Spanglish, Leo, The Day After Tomorrow, Vanilla Sky, The Patriot, Any Given Sunday, Three Kings, The Siege, Godzilla, Mars Attacks!, Mission: Impossible, City Hall, Die Hard With A Vengeance, and Interview with the Vampire. In addition to his background in film production, Mr. Bernard has experience producing music events and concert tours, serving as Line Producer and Production Manager for the Grateful Dead Summer Tour 92', Billy Joel PBS Concert 93' and Pete Towndsend's Psychoderelict 93'. Mr. Bernard graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Film.
